Tech Labs

Attendees get to put what they learned during Tech Forward into action at Tech Labs. These working sessions incorporate demonstrations, workbook examples and group activities to guide participants though the first steps of implementing new processes. You’ll leave ready to put what you learned into action when you get back to work.

Workshops are included in cost of registration and sign-ups are on first come, first serve basis following attendee survey sent four weeks before event.

Interactive Dashboarding

This is your chance to learn how to build interactive reports and dashboards using a sample data set. A data consultant will walk participants through the process of connecting, preparing, visualizing, and analyzing the data. We’ll also go beyond the technology, and discuss how you can take these skills home to shift the culture in your organization to be more agile and data driven.

Data Security, Privacy, and
GDPR for Nonprofits

What are the biggest security threats for your nonrprofit? Join us for a two-hour interactive workshop where security experts will walk you through the basics of Data Security, Data Privacy, and GDPR. We’ll talk through a do-it-yourself assessment of your organization’s Data Privacy and Security practices. This assessment will help you identify and prioritize your organization’s next steps to keep your constituent, volunteer, and donor data secure. You’ll also have an opportunity to view the latest technologies to help keep your data safe on-premise and in the cloud.

After this workshop, you will:

  • Understand your organization’s level of risk and responsibility as it relates to security and data privacy
  • Learn about tools and techniques that can help you improve your security without breaking the bank
  • Prioritize which types of data are most at risk, and which privacy-enhancing interventions are most critical and effective
Design Thinking for Nonprofits

Does your nonprofit organization struggle to get unstuck and try new things? You’re not alone, and there are strategies that can help! In this workshop, we’ll facilitate a live and collaborative Design Thinking session where participants will work in small groups to bring an idea to life.

This session will help you:

  • Understand how to validate that your approach will actually work
